Jay Poff is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA, with degrees in Music Business/Vocal Performance and Business Administration from Lee University, Cleveland, TN. Originally from Huntsville, AL, Jay and his wife Megan instruct professionals in vocal and performance techniques in Lancaster, PA.
In the last ten years, Jay has worked extensively throughout Central PA: Treasure Island, The Sound of Music, Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Fulton Theatre); Kiss Me Kate (Gretna Theatre); Spamalot and Joseph...Dreamcoat (The Media Theatre); lead vocalist in the highly acclaimed concert Defying Gravity
with
Stephen Schwartz (Prima Theatre); and the title role in the Moses World Premiere (Sight & Sound Theatre) which has now played to millions on stage, at movie theaters, and continues to garner views on streaming platforms. (Amazon Prime, Broadway HD).
Some favorite experiences in Regional Theatre include portraying Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar at the famed Barn Theatre in Augusta, MI during their landmark 70th Season. The Emcee, Cabaret; and Sam Spade in the Eastern U.S. Premier of The Maltese Falcon (Renaissance Theatre, AL); Freddie Trumper, Chess (Prima Theatre);  Herr Zeller, The Sound of Music and Mr. Price, Kinky Boots (Maine State Music Theatre).
Jay was thrilled to perform with the 1st U.S. tour of Rocktopia, Live!, afterwards founding/leading The New York Contemporary Choir for the production’s residency on Broadway at the Broadway Theatre starring guest powerhouse rock vocalists Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Pat Monahan of Train, and Robin Zander Cheap Trick. in 2021, Jay appeared with the J.W. Inspirational Singers on America's Got Talent Season 16 receiving 4 "YES' votes with their rendition of Cynthia Erivo's "Stand Up." Recent Film/TV credits include The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Quantico, The Blacklist: Redemption, and The Greatest Showman.
In 2021, Jay began touring with Forever Young. In this multi-genre - "based on a true story" - musical performance of friends sharing life's ups and downs, Jay loosely tells some of his story of how music shaped his next steps back toward a career in performance.  
He has received numerous awards and nominations for his work and is often selected for highly competitive masterclasses with such Broadway/music industry artists as John Bucchino,
Jason Robert Brown,
Shoshana Bean,
Sheri Sanders, and Stephen Schwartz. Currently, he studies “The ABIAH Way” with NYC artist developer and vocal coach, Jeremiah Abiah.
