It can be hard stepping into any leading role on the musical theater stage, but there's one that comes with slightly different audience expectations.

"Jesus Christ Superstar," by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, tells the story of the crucifixion through a rock opera, and focuses on Judas Iscariot's choice of whether to betray Jesus to the Romans.

“Your home is your castle” may seem like a saying from the dark ages, but it actually dates from after the 1517 Reformation, when Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on the door of the Wittenberg Castle church.

“That ushered in the modern era of democracy,” says Drew Pulver, who has organized the American premiere of “Oratorio Luther,” a project of a thousand voices. “Before that, if you couldn’t pay your tithes, you would be excommunicated and, in many cases, they would burn down your home.”

The Hunchback of Notre Dame will also be one of the largest shows in the theatre's one hundred sixty six year history. Over ninety cast and choir members will take the stage amidst soaring bell towers, a gypsy village, and the bustling streets of fifteenth century Paris. Beneath the stage, a fourteen piece orchestra will bring to life the incredible music of the timeless classic.

Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film's Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. The musical premiered in 1999 in Berlin, Germany as Der Glöckner von Notre Dame ("The Bellringer of Notre Dame"). It was produced by Walt Disney Theatrical, the company's first musical to premiere outside the U.S. It ran for three years, becoming one of Berlin's longest-running musicals. The English-language musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame had its debut at La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego, California.

<div data-rss-type="text">

The Irish...And How They Got That Way opened Off-Broadway in 1997 at the Irish Repertory Theatre. Written by Frank McCourt, the production featured musical arrangements by Rusty Magee with such classic Irish tunes as "Danny Boy" and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." The musical combines and showcases primary documents, such as news, letters, photos, paintings, and journals, in spoken word or in projections to illuminate the Irish-America struggle.

<div>
<br/>
</div>
<div>

The Tell Studio Theatre will be turned into a working Irish pub for this jovial musical. Everyone knows about "The Irish." They're the people who live life to the fullest - indulging lustily in good song and good humor (and sometimes even raising a glass or two). So what's so great about being Irish? Find out in this moving, uplifting, eye-opening musical history lesson full of charm and a bit of blarney. Don't miss this raucous celebration of all things Irish from acclaimed author of Angela's Ashes.
